On February 22nd, 2018 at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sergeant John Fischer was patrolling US 41 in Fort Branch when he clocked a North Bound vehicle traveling 67 mph in a 50 mph zone. Sgt. John Fischer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as 27 year old Shane Cavins, of Monroe City. After running Mr. Cavins information through the BMV it was found that he was operating a vehicle with a suspended license. Mr. Cavins was transported to the Gibson County Jail and charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended license with a prior. Mr. Cavins was also issued a citation for speeding. Mr. Cavin’s has since posted a $650 bond.
