The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for Small Streams in Athens County until 1:45 PM, today, Thursday, 2/22/18.

At 7:49 AM Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that heavy rain was falling over the area. The heavy rain will cause flooding. Up to 1.50 inches of rain has already fallen.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS; Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low-lying spots.
