...Heavy Rainfall Expected Through Saturday Night Across Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, Southwest Indiana and West Kentucky... .Multiple weather disturbances will move across the four state region through Saturday night and bring repeated bouts of rain, moderate to heavy at times. An event total of 5 to 7 inches of rainfall is likely across the Watch area through late Saturday night. Much of the region has already received 3/4 of an inch, and portions of southeast Missouri and southern Illinois have received 1 to 2 inches. For the most part, the drainage systems have been able to handle it, but with each successive round of moderate to heavy rain, flooding issues will become more likely, culminating with a line of showers and thunderstorms along a cold front Saturday night. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE SATURDAY NIGHT... * All of southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, southwest Indiana and western Kentucky.

* Through late Saturday night.

* Multiple rounds of rain, moderate to heavy at times, will increase the risk for areal flooding through the end of the week.

* The main flooding concern will be along small streams and creeks that feed into already swollen rivers across the region. especially in areas that receive multiple rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall. Elsewhere, elevated water levels in low lying and poor drainage areas may lead to standing water across some roads that typically flood.
