...Flooding Likely Across Portions of the Mid-South Tonight Through Late Saturday Night... .A slow-moving cold front will interact with deep moisture to produce showers and thunderstorms across the Mid-South this week. Widespread heavy rainfall is expected to develop late tonight and continue into early Thursday. Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are expected in the watch area through Wednesday night, with an additional 2 to 4 inches possible Friday night through Saturday night. Localized higher amounts are possible. Very moist soils due to recent rainfall will result in significant run-off. Flooding is likely along many of the rivers and tributaries. In addition, widespread flooding of lowlands and poor drainage urban areas is anticipated. * Portions of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, Southeast Missouri, and West Tennessee, including the following areas, in East Arkansas, Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, Cross, Greene, Lawrence, Lee, Mississippi, Phillips, Poinsett, Randolph, and St. Francis. In North Mississippi, Alcorn, Benton, Coahoma, DeSoto, Marshall, Panola, Quitman, Tate, Tippah, and Tunica. In Southeast Missouri, Dunklin and Pemiscot. In West Tennessee, Benton, Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Dyer, Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Henry, Lake, Lauderdale, Madison, McNairy, Obion, Shelby, Tipton, and Weakley.

* Heavy rainfall is expected across much of the Mid-South. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible, with localized higher amounts. Another round of heavy rainfall is expected Friday night through Saturday night.

* Runoff from heavy rainfall may result in rapid rises in river, stream, and creek levels. Widespread lowland flooding is possible and poor drainage urban areas may experience street flooding.
