Wanted for Attempting to Pass Counterfeit Currency
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who attempted to use counterfeit currency at a Patchogue store last month.
A man attempted to use a counterfeit $50 bill to purchase a lottery ticket at Shell gas station, located at 494 Medford Ave. on January 22 at approximately 3:50 a.m. The clerk noticed the bill was counterfeit and the man fled the store leaving the bill behind.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
