The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a

* Flood Warning for Small Streams in... East central Calhoun County in north central West Virginia... Randolph County in northeastern West Virginia... Southeastern Ritchie County in northwestern West Virginia... Northeastern Pocahontas County in northeastern West Virginia... Southern Doddridge County in northern West Virginia... Gilmer County in north central West Virginia... Lewis County in northern West Virginia... Braxton County in north central West Virginia... Upshur County in northeastern West Virginia... Northeastern Webster County in northeastern West Virginia... Barbour County in northeastern West Virginia... Southern Harrison County in northern West Virginia...

* Until 215 PM EST

* At 817 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that heavy rain was falling over the area. The heavy rain will cause flooding. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Elkins, Buckhannon, Weston, Philippi, Glenville, Sutton, Audra State Park, Belington, Gassaway, Mill Creek, Jackson Mill, Dailey, Cedar Creek State Park, Stonewall Jackson, Rock Cave, Holly River State, Beverly, Junior, Burnsville and Lost Creek.

Instructions:

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Please report Severe Weather to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely. You may also report severe weather by posting your report to the Charleston West Virginia National Weather Service Facebook Page, or by using the Twitter Hashtag, NWSRLX.
