PC 136.1(a)(1) - Dissuading/Intimidating a witness

LOCATION: 200 block of F St, Needles

SUSPECT(S): Dominique W Brown, 23-year-old transient of Needles

VICTIM(S): CONFIDENTIAL


SUMMARY: On January 31, 2018, at about 7:39 pm, a resident living in the area of 200 F Street in Needles was laying in bed inside her home. The resident was startled by a black male adult who entered through the unlocked front door. The intruder brandished a handgun from his waistband. While the suspect was in the home the victim's small dog became aggressive towards him and the suspect ran from the home.

On Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at about 12:30 pm, deputies from the Colorado River Station received a 911 call from the victim reporting the black male subject, later identified as Dominique Brown, was back and was loitering around her home. The victim claimed Brown also contacted her in the front yard of her home on the evening of Tuesday, February 13, 2018, and attempted to intimidate her, telling her to change her mind about filing charges against him.

While checking the area, deputies found Brown hiding in the rear yard of a nearby home at G Street and 3rd Street. The victim identified Dominique Brown as the man who contacted her and attempted to intimidate her. Brown was taken into custody for attempted home invasion robbery and dissuading/intimidating a witness and was booked into the Needles Jail, his bail is set at $100,000.
