Advisory
Heavy rain tonight may cause flash flooding and river flooding prior to tomorrow. Don't drive through standing water.
Flood Warning through Friday evening * A cold front, feeding on unseasonably mild, and very moist air mass, has the potential to produce between 1 to 3 inches of rain from tonight through Friday evening. With the ground being saturated from previous rains, coupled with streams and rivers still running high, this rain has the potential to cause flooding throughout the area. * Flooded roadways are a possibility, especially along streams, creeks and rivers. Flooding of Low lying and poor drainage areas, streams, creeks and rivers, is possible. * All rivers in the watch area will see significant rises and could exceed flood stage, especially the Ohio, Upper Cheat, Tygart Valley, Buckhannon and the West Fork rivers. Streams in the rather vulnerable Washington County are likely to flood tonight. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
