Deputies respond to a shooting on Elm Street

INCIDENT: PC 664/187 Attempted Murder
LOCATION: 7400 Block of Elm Street, Highland
SUSPECT: Lawrence Ray Bender, age 26 a resident of Highland
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 3:55 a.m., deputies from the Highland Station responded to a shooting call in the area of the 7400 block of Elm Street. Deputies encountered a female lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds to her hand and face. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Lawrence Bender.
On Monday, February 12, 2017, Bender was arrested by members of the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Division in the city of Highland. Bender was booked at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga for Penal Code 664/187 – Attempted Murder. The bail amount was set at $1,000,000.00.
