**Update** - Shots Fired – Arrests made

** UPDATE**

There has been continued investigation into the shots fired incident from February 12, 2018 at 7:31 PM that occurred in the 300 block of S Academy by the Janesville Police Department Detective Bureau.

It was determined Kobe Wethal, Hunter Jass, Damien Buchanan and three others went to 320 S Academy St. Hunter Jass brought two handguns along with them. Kobe Wethal went into 320 S Academy St #3 at one point where a drug related disturbance took place. Kobe Wethal eventually left the apartment. Kobe Wethal, Hunter Jass, Damien Buchanan and three others were outside 320 S Academy St when Damien Buchanan used one of the handguns and shot seven rounds at the residence. No one was injured. The gun used was a .40 caliber handgun, which has been located and seized. All three arrested were taken to the Rock County Jail and held. There will still be further investigation into this matter.

Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3:6 Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.






On February, 12, 2018 at approximately 7:31 PM dispatched received three calls from residents in the 300 block of S. Academy St reporting five to seven shots fired. Dispatch also received a call from a resident in the 400 block of Lincoln, who reported what sounded like multiple gunshots coming from several streets west of his location. Seven shell casing were found in the road in the 300 block of S. Academy St.

A neighborhood canvas was completed and no victims were located. There is no evidence to suggest anyone was injured. Area hospitals were notified and instructed to contact police if anyone showed up with suspicious injuries or a gunshot wound.

The investigation is still on going as more information becomes available another press release will be done at that time.
