January 8th

Auto Burglary - 900 block of Leneve Place:
An unknown suspect smashed the right rear window of the victim's Subaru Outback and stole misc. property from inside. Time of Occurence: 1/7/18 – 1900 hours to 1/8/18 – 1200 hours.

Stolen Vehicle Attempt, Petty Theft – Key Blvd. / Liberty St:
An unknown suspect smashed the window of a Nissan Maxima which was parked near BART. The vehicle ignition was damaged and it appeared the suspect attempted to steal the vehicle. When the suspect was unsuccessful in starting the vehicle, the suspect stole misc. property from the glove box and trunk. Time of Occurrence: Today 0330-1445 hours.

Residential Burglary – 2000 block of Key Blvd:
Between 0800 and 1700 hours, an unknown suspect cut the lock to the victim’s detached garage and stole his bicycle and miscellaneous tools.

January 9th

Stolen Vehicle – San Pablo Ave. / Ohio St:
An unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2006 Chevy Silverado sometime between 0800-1140 hours.

Auto Burglary – 1500 block of Douglas Dr:
An unknown suspect shattered the victim’s window and stole property. TOO: 1/7/18 1800 hours to 1/8/18 1545 hours.

Auto Burglary – 1500 block of Douglas Dr:
Officer Perez reports that an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s window and stole property. TOO: 1/7/18 1500 hours to 1/9/18 1259 hours

Residential Burglary – 800 block of Everett St:
Between 0600 and 1700 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the rear slider of the residence. Once inside, the suspect conducted a major ransack of the residence and stole gold, silver, and jewelry.

Shoplift – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2035 hours, an officer responded to an unwanted subject and contacted a 43-year-old woman from Antioch. She stole $80 worth of detergent and she was placed under citizen arrest. She was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

Robbery – (Starbucks) 11861 San Pablo Ave:
Approximately 2023 hours, the victim was in Starbucks and sitting at a table with his laptop on the table in front of him. S-1 entered, grabbed the laptop, and then fled out the door with the laptop. The victim gave chase but S-2 blocked his path and tried to push the victim. The victim managed to get past S-2 and followed S-1 southbound on San Pablo Ave and saw S-1 get into an awaiting vehicle. S-1 was described as a white male, late 20s, 5-11, thin, and wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie. S-2 was described as a black male, 18-20, 5-11, thin, and wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie. The suspect vehicle was described as mid 2000's model Toyota Corolla.

DUI – 700 block of San Pablo Ave (Albany):
At 0257 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 25-year-old man from Berkeley for DUI. He was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

January 10th

Shoplift – 10650 San Pablo Ave.
An officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of an 18-year-old female from Richmond, a 19-year-old female from Vallejo, and an 18-year-old female from Vallejo after they shoplifted from the business. All were released on citations.

Warrant – Schmidt Ln. / Kearney St:
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 39-year-old female from Richmond for an outstanding warrant. Cite release

Warrant – 3300 block of Carlson Blvd:
At 0319 hours, an officer responded to a disturbance and contacted a 36-year-old female from Davis and arrested her on a Napa County warrant. She was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

January 11th

Shoplift, Delay or Obstruct and Officer – (Safeway)11450 San Pablo Ave:
An officer was conducting a security check at Safeway when (S1) fled the store with property and fled on a bicycle. The officer gave chase but she eluded capture. (S1) dumped her bicycle in the 1700 block of Lexington.

Shoplift – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
An officer was dispatched to a shoplifter in custody. He accepted the citizen arrest of a 47-year-old man and then released him on a citation.

Shoplift – (Cricket Wireless) 11299 San Pablo Ave:
An officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 50-year-old man from Richmond after he stole 4 cell phone chargers. Cite released.

Stolen Vehicle – 5200 block of Gordon Ave:
Between 1/9/18 at 2230 hours and 1/11/18 at 2230 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s black 1994 Honda Accord.

DUI – San Pablo Ave / Wall Ave:
At 0219 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 31-year-old man from Richmond for DUI. He was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

January 12th

Warrant Arrest - (Safeway) 11565 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1854 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 31-year-old female from San Pablo for an outstanding warrant.

Spousal Battery, False Imprisonment – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1923 hours, ECPD officers were dispatched to Safeway for an unknown domestic issue. When officers arrived, the suspect and the victim had left the scene. Several employees and witnesses lead officers to the Del Norte BART parking lot where the suspect, 33-year-old male from Richmond was last seen driving. An officer located the vehicle unoccupied. A witness notified the officer that both parties just exited the vehicle and walked north on San Pablo Avenue. The male was located by an officer. Witnesses saw the male forcing the victim into his vehicle against her will. The male grabbed and shoved the victim into his car as she refused. The male eventually got the victim into the vehicle and drove off. The victim recently broke up with the male due to his abusive nature. The male was placed under arrest and transported to county jail after booking.

January 13th

Brandishing, Under Influence of a Cntl. Subs., Probation Violation – 8000 El Cerrito Plaza (Macaroni Grill):
At 2204 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of a former employee who brandished a baseball bat at employees at the Macaroni Grill. Officers arrived on scene and located a 38-year-old male from El Sobrante. During the contact with the male, he displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant and he was taking into custody. During booking it was discovered the male was on probation. After booking the male was transported to county jail.

Poss. of a Cntl. Subs. And Drug Paraphernalia - 11555 San Pablo Ave (Dollar Tree):
At 0232 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 57-year-old male form Richmond for being in possession of a suspected controlled substance and a smoking device. The male was given a citation and released.

January 14th

Theft from Person – San Pablo Ave and Fairmount Ave:
At 1843 hours, an officer reports while the victim was seated in her vehicle a group of juveniles approached and one the subjects opened her front passenger door and removed her cell phone from the center compartment. The group then fled east onto Fairmount Avenue toward the Plaza BART Station.

Warrant Arrest – 11565 San Pablo Ave (Walgreen’s):
At 2346 hours, an Officer conducted a suspicious vehicle stop and subsequently arrested a 32-year-old female from Hercules for a warrant. The female was issued a citation and released on scene.

January 16th

Robbery – BART Path / Manila Ave:
At 1753 hours, the victim came to the ECPD to report a battery. At about 1745 hours, the victim was walking southbound on the BART Path approaching Manila Ave when she noticed 5-6 male teenagers. The victim passed the group and Suspect-1 grabbed her purse and attempted to pull it from her shoulder. The victim held onto the purse. Suspect-2, Suspect-3, Suspect-4, and Suspect-5 joined in and assisted by pulling on the purse and physically assaulting the victim. The victim retained her purse but her iPhone was stolen. Suspect-1 was described as a Hispanic male juvenile, 16-18 years old, 5'10", 160-180lbs, a light mustache, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, blue jeans and white high top shoes. Suspects 2-5 were described as Hispanic male juveniles, all approximately 16-18 years old.

Auto Burglary – 1500 block of Madera Ct:
At approximately 1730 hours, the victim was inside her residence when the family dog started to bark. The victim exited the residence to find the front passenger window of her black Toyota Prius shattered and approximately $5.00 from the cup holder stolen.

Possess Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia – San Pablo Ave / Knott Ave:
At 0132 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 59-year-old man from Richmond for possession of methamphetamine and a pipe. He was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

Battery, Possess Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia, Probation Violation – (Denny’s) 11344 San Pablo Ave:
At 0317 hours, Officers responded to a fight inside the restaurant. It was determined the victim was inside the restaurant when a 33-year-old male transient entered and confronted the victim for no apparent reason. The victim retreated further into the restaurant trying to get away from the suspect but the suspect followed the victim and physically assaulted him. The suspect was placed under citizen arrest. The suspect is also on probation in Contra Costa County. A search incident to arrest yielded methamphetamine and a pipe. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

January 17th

Warrant – Carlson Blvd / Fairmont Ave:
At 2329 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 30-year-old transient female on a Contra Costa County Warrant stemming from a 2017 ECPD case and on a no bail Berkeley warrant. She was booked at the ECPD and then transported to county jail.

Possess Controlled Substance/ Drug Paraphernalia – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 0009 hours, an officer responded to an unwanted subject at Safeway and arrested a 33-year-old male transient for possession of methamphetamine and a pipe. He was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

January 18th

Shoplift – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1851 hours, an officer responded to a shoplifter in custody at Safeway. The in custody had no identification and was not cooperating with Safeway Loss Prevention. An officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 41-year-old female for stealing approximately $40 worth of candles. The woman was identified and booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.
