Suffolk County Police today arrested a man for selling drugs and possessing fighting animals and animal fighting paraphernalia in Bay Shore, New York and Brentwood, New York.
 
Following an investigation, Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives executed two search warrants this morning resulting in the seizure of drugs. Further investigation revealed the man arrested, Reynaldo Bonilla, was also in possession of roosters, hens and fighting talons and a cockfighting ring. Police recovered a significant quantity of cocaine, marijuana, cash, scales and packaging materials at 1513 North Thompson Drive Bay Shore and 107 4^th St., Brentwood. Police arrested Reynaldo Bonilla, 30, at his home at 1513 North Thompson Drive at approximately 9:50 a.m.
 
Bonilla was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3^rd Degree, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2^nd Degree, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. The SPCA is also charging Bonilla with violations of the agricultural market laws. Numerous roosters and hens that were kept in the backyard of 107 4^th St., Brentwood, were confiscated by the SPCA.
 
Third Squad Detectives were assisted by personnel from the SPCA, State Environmental Conservation Officers, Town of Islip Animal Control, Third Precinct Gang Section, Third Precinct Community Support Unit (CSU), Emergency Services Section and Canine Section.
 
Bonilla will be held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on February 10, 2018.
