Narrative:
On Saturday, February 3rd, the Camarillo Police Explorers and Access hosted a secure paper-shredding event at the Camarillo Community Center, from 8 am till 12 noon.
This event was open to all Camarillo residents and businesses. The Camarillo Police Explorers would like to thank our community for their generous support during this event. 326 cars came to the event and 19,980 pounds (10 tons) of secure documents were shredded. The Camarillo Police Explorers raised $2,147.00 as a result of this event. All proceeds from this event went directly to the Camarillo Police Explorer program.
The Camarillo Police Explorers Program would also like to thank Toschin Aquino from Access and Management Analyst Roger Pichardo from the City of Camarillo, for putting this event together.
Explorers are local youth between 14 and 20 years of age. These youth have displayed a desire to pursue law enforcement as a potential career opportunity. The explorers all have high ethical principles and are enthusiastic to support their community. They take part in weekly Post meetings, assist with civic and community events, perform parking service and traffic control duties at local events, participate in scenario based strategic trainings, and attend tactical competitions.
