#006 Robbery (In-Custody)
At 6:45 a.m., the day started off with an early morning purse-snatch robbery that occurred in the 35600 block of Fremont Blvd (Brookvale area).  A witness reported that a male tackled a female, stole her purse and was fleeing on foot.  Numerous officers responded and Officer J. Kennedy located a suspect matching the description near the Lucky’s store in the Brookvale shopping center.  The suspect, a 23 year old adult male, Fremont resident was positively identified and arrested.  The purse was recovered inside his vehicle and returned to the victim. 
 
#028 Major Injury Collision
At 6:56 p.m., Fremont PD received a report of a major injury collision in the area of Blacow Rd and Gatewood. FPD units arrived and located an 18 year old pedestrian unresponsive in the roadway. The female driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with traffic investigators.  The pedestrian was transported to a trauma center with life threatening injuries. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in this investigation.  
 
#021Robbery
At 3:36 p.m., Officer Trzewieczynski responded to a report of a robbery in the Costco parking lot, located in the 43600 block of Pacific Commons.  When officers arrived, they found the female victim lying on the ground in the roadway.  She was initially hysterical and could not answer questions.  Fire and paramedics arrived.  She was transported to a local hospital to be treated for her injury.  Officers responded to the hospital where they took her statement.  She told officers that she got out of her vehicle after parking in the business lot.  She then proceeded to get a shopping cart and placed her purse in it.  Suspect  # 1 came up from behind and grabbed her purse from the shopping cart. She tried to take hold of her purse and they struggled over it.  She was pushed by the suspect and lost her balance, falling to the ground and injuring herself. The suspect stole the purse and fled the scene. The suspect was described as:
 
Suspect #1- described as a light skinned black or Hispanic male, 20s-30s with short black hair, a mustache and a beard shaved down below his jawline.
Suspect #2- described as a black or Hispanic male 20s- 30s, with short black hair and hair on his chin. Possibly wearing a white t-shirt.
Suspect Vehicle - Grey Infinity, possibly a G35 model, with paper plates
 
#026 Outside Assist – Occupied Stolen Vehicle
At 6:31 p.m., East Bay Regional Parks police called for assistance with a stolen vehicle investigation.  A Parks Police Officer was following a stolen car through Niles Canyon and needed a cover unit.  Officers arrived and assisted with a high risk stop near 3rd and F Streets.  The suspect was arrested and a loaded handgun was located inside the vehicle during a search.  The suspect was arrested and given a ride to jail.
 
#007 DUI Arrest
At 2:40 a.m., Officer Dubowy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Blacow Rd and Stevenson Blvd after observing a vehicle run a red light and swerve back and forth, unable to maintain its lane.  He contacted the 30 year old female driver after she yielded in the area of Stevenson Blvd and Farwell Pl.  Officer Dubowy immediately noticed the driver had objective symptoms of being under the influence.  After a Field Sobriety Test, Officer Dubowy determined she was under the influence of alcohol.  He arrested the female for DUI and transported her to the Fremont Jail.

#020 Residential Burglary
At 11:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to an address on Turner Ct after a responding to a 911 report of an unknown male was in the reporting party’s backyard.   Numerous officers responded and set up a perimeter as the caller gave updates regarding the suspect trying to enter the residence.  When officers approached, the suspect attempted to flee but was quickly captured.  Pry marks were found on the back door and pliers were located on the suspect’s person.  The 34 year old adult male, Fremont resident was arrested for attempted burglary without further incident. 
 
#024 Estes Robbery
At 1:48 p.m., officers responded to the Safeway in Warm Springs to investigate an Estes Robbery.  A male suspect placed multiple items into a handbasket and bypassed the registers without paying.  Loss prevention confronted the suspect and they got involved in a wrestling match.  A female came to the aid of the suspect and threatened to pepper spray the loss prevention employee.  The caller told dispatch that they were holding a suspect for attempted theft and that he had a knife, brass knuckles and was fighting with loss prevention.  The suspect fled and was last seen in a gold Dodge Caravan.  The loss prevention employee also fled the scene and officers were not able to speak with him.  The witness was able to identify a partial license plate and officers were working on follow up to identify the suspect’s vehicle.  The suspects were described as follows:
Suspect #1 -  Hispanic male adult, 5'8, 170 lbs., short dark hair, tattoos on both arms, last seen wearing a black shirt with red and white writing and blue jeans.
Suspect #2 – Hispanic female adult, 5'3, 130 lbs., medium length dark hair, last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans.
 
#032 Robbery – Chain Snatch
At 4:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to a chain snatch robbery in the 50000 block of Hutton Street.  The caller told dispatch the incident had occurred approximately 10 minute prior, however officers would later realize is was delayed by about 30 minutes.  The male victim was sitting on his neighbor’s front yard retaining wall, when a 4:15 p.m., a suspect pulled up and parked at the curb in front of him. The suspect vehicle rolled down the windows and the male noticed it was occupied by three people.  They got his attention and he walked over to the window where a female suspect placed a gold ring on his finger and a gold necklace around his neck.  She told him they were $20.  He pulled away from the vehicle as the female suspect then attempted to remove the personal ring he was wearing.  The car drove away and down the street where they contacted his spouse standing on the sidewalk a few houses away.  The female suspect exited the vehicle and placed a necklace around the female victim’s neck. The suspect then began yanking on the two personal gold chains the female victim was wearing.  The suspect was not successful in this attempt. The suspect entered the vehicle and it drove off.  The male victim then noticed his personal necklace was missing and realized the female suspect cut if off his neck when she was placing the other one on it.  It was valued at $2,000. 
Suspect Vehicle - Older black 4 door SUV, possibly a Chevy Suburban or a Ford Expedition
 
SUSPECT #1 – Hispanic female or South Asian Indian female, 30 years old, unknown height, medium build, black hair, last seen wearing a white top.
 
SUSPECT #2 - Hispanic male or South Asian Indian male, 20 to 25 years old, unknown height, heavy set, black hair and last seen wearing a white top.
 
SUSPECT #3 Hispanic male or South Asian Indian male, 40 years old, unknown height, athletic build, black hair and unknown clothing.
 
#034 Hit and Run DUI Collision
Traffic Officer Snow is investigation a drunken driving accident that occurred near Irvington High School.
 
#045 Hit and Run Causing Injuries and DUI Arrest
At 11:01 p.m., officers were dispatched to an address in the 3800 block of Peralta Blvd for a collision where the involved vehicle was left at the scene and the driver fled on foot.  Officers arrived and found a person was struck as were a number of vehicles.  The person suffered a leg injury and abrasions.  K9 Officer Macciola located a male subject matching the given description on Fremont Blvd at Norris Rd.  After an in-field show up, the male was positively identified as the driver who fled from the vehicle at the scene.  The 23 year old adult male, Fremont resident was arrested for felony hit and run and felony driving under the influence.  The suspect was transported to the Santa Rita Jail after a blood draw.  Officer Carter investigated the incident.
