INCIDENT:    Homicide Investigation
 
LOCATION:   74000 block of Joe Davis Drive, Twentynine Palms
 
VICTIM:          Dominique Clement, age 21 a resident of Twentynine Palms
 
SUSPECT:    William Olivo, age 25 a resident of Twentynine Palms
 
SUMMARY: UPDATE:  Wednesday, February 7, 2018
 
The victim has been identified as Dominique Clement, age 21 of Twentynine Palms
 
The investigation is ongoing, and the motive remains under investigation.  Additional information will be released when it becomes available.

On Monday, February 5, 2018, at approximately 12:01 pm, deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of a stabbing that had occurred at a residence in the 74000 block of Joe Davis Drive.  Upon arrival, deputies located the victim suffering from apparent stab wounds.  The victim was transported to a local area hospital and later died at 2:46 pm.
 
Deputies located the suspect, William Olivo, outside of the apartment armed with a knife.  Deputies ordered the suspect to drop the knife.  Olivo complied with the deputies orders, however, resisted when deputies attempted to handcuff him and he was tased.  He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to a local area hospital where he was treated for a laceration believed to have occurred during an altercation with the victim.  Once released from the hospital, he was transported and booked into the Morongo Jail. 
 
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail responded to the location and assumed the investigation. 
 
Olivo was later transported to the West Valley Detention Center where he is being held without bail.
