Snow plows need extra room to be able to clear the streets to make them safe for the traveling public.  This task becomes very difficult when cars are parked on the roadway.  In certain cases, the plows may not be able to clear a street due to a lack of access so do your neighborhood a favor and stay off the streets when it snows.

The Lockport Police Department would like to remind residents that parking on public streets is prohibited for 8 hours after a snowfall.  If the snow accumulation is greater than 2 inches, the parking prohibition is extended until snow removal operations have been completed.  This means that your street must have been cleared  from curb to curb.
