The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

February 6th

0642 Hours: Officer R. Johnson contacted and arrested a 40-year-old Fremont male for his outstanding warrant during a routine traffic stop on Thornton Avenue at St Edwards Street. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

0926 Hours: Officer Allum contacted and arrested a 45-year-old Concord male for his outstanding warrant during a routine traffic stop on Carriage Circle Common (Fremont). The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

0959 Hours: Community Service Officer Verandes recovered a reported stolen 2016 Lexus IS200T on Zulmida Avenue at Deborah Street. The registered owner was notified of the recovery.

1342 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated a residential burglary on the 37200 block of Elm Street. The loss is a carpet dryer.

1439 Hours: Community Service Officer Parks investigated a stolen Black Nissan Sentra (CA License #7EHK771) on the 36800 block of Locust Street.

1556 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated an identification theft case where the victims stolen driver’s license was used to fraudulently purchase a vehicle.
