Sheriff's Office and marine rescue agencies searching for a man last seen on Hilton Head bridge at 8:00 pm. 
At approximately 8:00 pm, several motorists traveling west over the Wilton Graves Bridge (the bridge that connects Pinckney Island to Hilton Head Island) reported a Caucasian man in shorts running in and out of traffic. The motorists further reported that the man was last seen near the guard rail of the bridge. Sheriff's Office deputies responded and arrived within a few minutes, but were unable to locate the man.
At the request of the on-scene deputies, Sheriff's Office Emergency Dispatch notified area marine rescue agencies, to include the Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol Unit and Coast Guard. Those agencies responded and are currently searching for the man in the waterway beneath the Wilton Graves Bridge.
Motorists can expect a heavy law enforcement presence on the Wilton Graves Bridge and surrounding area over the next several hours. We will keep you updated as information becomes available.
