Indoor Marijuana Grow Eradicated on Amos Lane, Valley Springs

(Valley Springs, CA) On 1-31-18 members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at a residence on Amos Lane, Valley Springs. This location was identified as having two personal medical marijuana cultivation registrations which would allow up to 200 square feet of total canopy area by a qualified patient. No subjects were located on scene during the search warrant and deputies found that a considerable area inside of this residence had been converted for marijuana cultivation. It was determined that the amount of marijuana was well in excess of what is allowed. Deputies seized 907 marijuana plants and just over 26 pounds of processed marijuana. Although no suspects were present at the time of the warrant, several persons have been identified to be associated to the residence and the investigation is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
Deputies noted what appears to be mold or fungus on the interior ceilings of this house. As previously reported from another indoor marijuana grow that was eradicated in January 2018, property owners and realtors who are forced to deal with the aftermath of these illegal commercial sized indoor marijuana grows in residential houses should take note and be aware of the potential hazards these operations pose. As seen in the attached pictures, hazards can include moisture intrusion in the ceiling, walls, and flooring materials which promotes widespread mold and fungus.
