SCAM ALERT from Alburtis Police Department

Today, February 1, 2018 at 8:10 am, I received a phone call from a male stating he is with "Americans for Police Officer & Trooper Safety". He stated the organization supports law enforcement by lobbying congress. He did not want any credit card information or other information, but wanted to send an envelope so I could send money to him. When asked "isn't that what the FOP does" he did not know how to answer and hung up.

If you want to support your local police or fire department, please contact them personally and ask how you may help. If you want to donate financially, please take the money/check to them directly. This ensures the money goes directly to where you want it to and ensures you aren't being scammed.

Many volunteer fire departments do send out letters for their fund drives, these get mailed to their station or their PO Box. If you have a question regarding these fund drive letters, please contact them prior to sending any funds.

Please support your LOCAL police and fire department.

Instructions:

Do not respond to "Americans for Police Officer & Trooper Safety." If you receive a call from them, there is no need to contact us. Please pass this information on to friends and family.
