SUBJECT: ACPD Case #18-0064 / Two Angels Camp Residents Arrested for Child Endangerment

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On January 30, 2018 at approximately 4:50 A.M., officers from the Angels Camp Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of South Main Street to assist fire personnel with a residential structure fire.
Officers arrived on scene and found three children under the age of 13 standing in front of the residence that was on fire. The children told the officers that they were left home alone and didn’t know where their parents were.
The parents arrived at the residence approximately 5 minutes after the first officers on scene.
The children were released to the custody of Child Protective Services after being checked for injuries by medical personnel. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Angels Camp Fire Department.
Tracy Creamer, 29 year-old Angels Camp resident, was arrested and booked in to the Calaveras County Jail for the following charge:

Matthew Mertz, 29 year-old Angels Camp resident, was arrested and booked in to the Calaveras County Jail for the following charges:

11364 HS – Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia
4060 BP – Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription
11375(b)(2) HS – Possession of More than an Ounce of Marijuana
