On 01/28/2018, 28 year old David Alex Ward was arrested for 187-PC (Murder). David Ward is a Oakland resident who was on PRCS for weapon related charges.  Clearlake Sgt. E Cook has been actively investigating the homicide of 24 year old Brandon McAfee.  On 11/25/2016 Brandon was shot and killed after an altercation involving a marijuana transaction.  Sgt. Cook collected evidence and interviewed witnesses over the past year, while investigating this homicide. After the lengthy investigation, there was enough evidence to issue a warrant for Ward's arrest.  Ward was arrested in Alameda County and transported back to Lake County where he will face charges of 187-PC (Murder), 664/211-PC (Attempt Robbery ), 29800-PC (Felon in Possession of Firearm), 30305-PC (Felon Possession Ammunition), 29805-PC (Prohibited Person in Possession of Firearm), and 245-PC (Assault with a Deadly Weapon).
