On Feb 1, 2018, at 8:00 am, The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department will transition to StarCom 21. StarCom 21 is the official statewide public safety radio network of Illinois The purpose of Star Com 21 is to enhance law enforcement officer safety and protect citizens from the possibility of confidential information being transmitted and used for purposes other than intended. This system will be encrypted which will not allow for the monitoring of live calls.
A 72 Hour Dispatch log will be posted and regularly updated to provide information to citizens about activity occurring in the Winnebago county region. (See Attached Link) https://data.illinois.gov/group/local-government
The Roscoe Police Department's calls will be encrypted and will be posted on the 72-hour dispatch log as well. We will still provide more detailed information when available via Nixle, Facebook, Nextdoor.com, and crimereports.com
