On Saturday, January 27, 2018, the Burlington Township Police Department arrested Jose A. Gonell (21 year old Princeton, NJ resident) and charged him with motor vehicle theft as well as multiple car burglaries in the Sunset Ridge development.

The investigation began on January 25, 2018 when Burlington Township officers responded to a report of overnight car burglaries within the Sunset Ridge neighborhood. While investigating those burglaries, the officers discovered a Ford Fusion was stolen from a nearby residence. The officers also discovered evidence indicating that the burglaries and the motor vehicle theft were related.

During the evening hours of Saturday, January 27, 2018, the Pennsauken Police Department located the stolen Ford Fusion with Gonell and proceeds from the burglaries inside. Gonell was turned over to the custody of the Burlington Township Police Department, after which he was charged with two counts of motor vehicle burglary, three counts of theft, and two counts of criminal trespass. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail pending his first appearance.
