Sheriff's employee assists families displaced by recent fire, families in need of additional items

DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: January 26, 2018, at 5:00 pm

LOCATION: Adelanto

On Monday, January 22, 2018, eight families were forced to evacuate their homes when a fire erupted at the Villa Park Apartments in Adelanto. The owner of the apartment community, Global Property Management Inc., owns several other apartment communities in Adelanto and placed the eight families into other apartments. However, the families lost most of their belongings because of the fire and water damage.

On Friday, January 26, 2018, at 5:00 pm, Sheriff Service Specialist George Ramirez, who works closely with the tenants, managers and owners through the Crime Free Multi-Housing Program, saw these families needed additional assistance and obtained $250.00 gift cards for each family.

The station partnered with Pastor Thomas Strausbaugh from the Desert Streams Baptist Church and are reaching out to anyone who would like to donate to the families. Needed items are: adult and children’s clothing (New or used), household items, toys and daily essential items. If you would like to donate, items can be dropped off at the following locations:
