SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at approximately 5:00 a.m., Deputies with the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station were called to a motel near the 14300 block of Main Street regarding suspicious circumstances. The reporting party described three male subjects siphoning fuel from vehicles parked in the parking lot, and taking the gas into a nearby room. Deputies arrived on scene and contacted one of the suspicious male subjects, later identified as Victor Lozano.

Through investigation, it was learned which room Lozano was staying. Deputies contacted several other subjects staying in that room. While conducting their investigation, deputies observed what was believed to be stolen property from a previous Hesperia residential burglary inside the room. Additionally, deputies located two reported stolen vehicles in the parking lot of the motel room associated to Lozano and subject Charles Golonka, an associate of Lozano.

A search warrant was authored and served at the motel, where stolen property and believed to be stolen property was recovered. An additional five subjects, John Waninger, Joshua Swigart, Maddison Drown, Sara Ortega and Jody Meyers were also detained and later arrested with Lozano and Golonka. All involved parties were booked into the High Desert Detention Center for P.C. 496, Possession of stolen property.

Lozano is currently on Felony Probation for P.C. 496, Waninger is currently on Felony Probation for PC 245(a)(4), Assault upon a person by any means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, and Swigart was wanted out of Northern California on a no bail felony warrant.
