The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

January 23rd

0942 Hours: Officer Allum investigated a two vehicle complaint of pain accident on Lake Boulevard at Edgewater Drive. Both drivers were transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

1047 Hours: Officer Horst investigated the attempted theft of a 2013 Ford F-250 at Sunbelt Rentals, 37300 Central Court. No loss was reported.

1256 Hours: Officer Pacheco investigated a reported restraining order violation at Second Chance, 6519 Thornton Avenue. The victim’s ex-boyfriend sent a threatening text to her violating the restraining order. The investigation is ongoing.

1329 Hours: Officer Pacheco investigated the theft of mail form a community mail box located on the 6000 block of Cedar Boulevard.

2025 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated an auto burglary on the 39900 block of Cedar Boulevard. The loss is unknown at this time.

2148 Hours: Officer Piquette investigated a locker burglary at 24 Hour Fitness, NewPark Mall. The loss is an iPhone.
