3 Deputies Receive their Advanced Professional Certificate
On January 23, 2018, Rutherford County Sheriff Chris Francis congratulated Corporal Robert Owens, Detective Brandon Ellenburg, and Detective Julie Greene for receiving their Advanced Professional Certificate.
The North Carolina Sheriff’s Education and Training Standards Commission awarded Cpl. Owens, Det. Ellenburg, and Det. Greene with the Advanced Professional Certification.
The Advanced Professional Certificate is the highest level of professional certification issued by the North Carolina Sheriff’s Education and Training Standards Commission to deputy sheriffs.
The Advanced Professional Certificate is awarded to deputies who have completed the required years of service, professional training and continuing education.
In Cpl. Owens, Det. Ellenburg, and Det. Greene’s letter recognizing their accomplishment, Attorney General Josh Stein, wrote, “I extend my most sincere congratulations to you for earning this Advanced Professional Certificate. As a recipient of this prestigious certificate, you have demonstrated a commendable commitment to law enforcement professionalism. I hope that you display your certificate with pride as it represents your outstanding achievement as a representative of your agency and as a justice officer in the criminal justice system of North Carolina.
Sheriff Francis commented on Cpl. Owens, Det. Ellenburg, and Det. Greene’s accomplishment, “It is an honor to present Corporal Robert Owens, Detective Brandon Ellenburg, and Detective Julie Greene with the Advanced Professional Certificate. Cpl. Owens, Det. Ellenburg, and Det. Greene continue to demonstrate dedication to their chosen profession”.
Cpl. Owens has over 15 years experience in law enforcement and is currently a School Resource Officer assigned to Isothermal Community College.
Det. Ellenburg has over 12 years experience in law enforcement and is currently assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division (Breaking and Entering, Larcenies).
Det. Greene has over 17 years experience in law enforcement and is currently assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division (Child Abuse, Missing Persons, and Juvenile Investigations).
