At 1:47 a.m., residents on Ladner Street called and reported a loud collision sound coming from Grimmer Blvd/Irvington Ave.  Upon arrival officers found a damaged fence along the south curb of Grimmer Blvd near Irvington Ave.  On Irvington Ave, Sgt. Kindorf found the involved vehicle, a 2007 Subaru WRX.  It was left abandoned and appeared to be a single vehicle collision.  Sgt. Kindorf and her team were not able to locate the occupant(s); they used Officer B. Smith’s K-9 for a track.  This K-9 track lead them to 7-11 on Chapel Ave at Fremont Blvd.   Eventually, the registered owner was contacted and it was learned that he had been drinking.  He stated his vehicle had been stolen and at this time he possessed the keys to his vehicle.  Officer Madsen seized evidence and additional follow up is taking place.  No arrests were made.
