Deputies assist Mohave Co. Sheriff in recovering a stolen vehicle; followed with search warrant and two in custody

INCIDENT: Possession of Stolen Property
LOCATION: 1000 Block East Broadway, Needles
SUSPECT(S): Karl Vongettrost, 52, Needles
Melissa Crepeau, 60, Needles
SUMMARY:
On January 20, 2018 at 1:02 p.m., deputies from the Needles Police and Sheriff’s Department assisted the Mohave County Sheriff’s Department with the recovery of a stolen vehicle on the 1000 block of East Broadway. During the investigation, both suspects were positively identified as Melissa Crepeau and Karl Vongettrost. Deputies attempted contact at Crepeau’s last known address on Zoe Lane, in the City of Needles, but neither subject would answer the door. An arrest warrant was authored, as well as, a search warrant to the residence. Upon serving the search warrant, both Crepeau and Vongettrost were taken into custody without incident. Additional stolen property was recovered at the residence.
Crepeau and Vongettrost were arrested for possession of stolen property and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Crepeau is being held on $50,000 bail, pending a court hearing. Vongettrost, who is currently on parole for Domestic Violence, is being held on a No Bail Parole Violation pending a court hearing.
