Incident: Three People Arrested for Selling E-Liquid Nicotine/Cigarettes to Minors
Location: First Precinct Jurisdiction, Suffolk County, New York
Date/Time: Saturday, January 20, 2018 between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Suffolk County Police arrested three people for selling e-liquid nicotine and cigarettes to minors at businesses located in the First Precinct jurisdiction.
In response to community complaints, First Precinct Crime Section officers and representatives from the Suffolk County Department of Health Services Tobacco Regulation Enforcement Unit conducted an investigation into the sale of e-liquid nicotine and cigarettes to minors at 15 businesses.
The following people were arrested and charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree:
- David Anthony Nunez, 22, of Copiague, New York, employed at Collado Hookah, 80G Montauk Highway, Copiague, New York
- Rohit Kumar, 27, of Richmond Hill, Queens, New York, employed at Valero Gas Station, 10 Long Island Ave., Wyandanch, New York
- Yousef Fadhel, 30, of Manhattan, New York, employed at Allah Convenience Inc., 1308 Straight Path, Wyandanch, New York
The owners of the above businesses were issued Notice of Violation by the Suffolk County Department of Health.
The following businesses complied, and refused the sale of e-liquid nicotine and cigarettes to minors:
- Clean Vapor, 37 West Hoffman Ave., Lindenhurst, New York
- Dapper Vapor 411 40th St., Lindenhurst, New York
- Happy Times, 130 Sunrise Highway, Lindenhurst, New York
- Cloud Worx, 78 Route 109, West Babylon, New York
- The Barn, 10 Belmont Ave., West Babylon, New York
- The Barn, 2-18 Park Ave., Babylon, New York
- Milk N’ Things, 1287A Deer Park Ave., North Babylon, New York
- Smoke Hub, 15 Bay Shore Road, Deer Park, New York
- Vapor Depot, 1878 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park, New York
- Kristy’s Smoke Shop, 1836 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park, New York,
- Express Gas Station, 1901 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park, New York
- Sunoco Gas Station, 1580 Straight Path, Wyandanch, New York
The three people arrested were issued Field Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
