JPD Announces Promotions 
The police department announces the promotions of Lieutenant Michael J. Blaser and Sergeant Jennifer K. Wehmas.
On December 7, 2017, the City of Janesville Police and Fire Commission approved the promotions of Sergeant Michael J. Blaser to Lieutenant and Officer Jennifer K. Wehmas to Sergeant.
Sergeant Michael J. Blaser is an eighteen year veteran of the Janesville Police Department. Sergeant Blaser was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant effective January 19, 2018. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. Sergeant Blaser has experience in the following areas; Crisis Intervention Team, Field Training Officer, Gang Unit, Patrol Sergeant, Street Crimes Unit, Explorer Post, SWAT Team.
Officer Jennifer K. Wehmas is an eleven year veteran of the Janesville Police Department. Officer Wehmas was promoted to the rank of Sergeant effective January 21, 2018. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh. Officer Wehmas has experience in the following areas; Explorer Post Advisor, Field Training Officer, Honor Guard, Mobile Field Force, Street Crimes Unit.
Lieutenant Blaser and Sergeant Wehmas were honored in a promotion ceremony at the police department on January 19, 2018.
