Advisory

LASD SEB personnel in Lancaster for containment of barricaded suspect, 200 Blk of East Avenue J.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) is responding to the 200 block of East Avenue J-12, Lancaster, regarding a suspect who is currently out of custody on a bond for a “Shooting into an Inhabited Dwelling” arrest.

Team members learned that Lancaster deputies were dispatched to the location at approximately 11:30 p.m. for a report call and an ongoing investigation of a neighbor dispute between the victim and the suspect.  At arrival, they discovered the bonded suspect had a history of having weapons. Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of all involved, Special Weapons Team personnel were requested.

The surrounding homes have been evacuated for the safety of the residents.

Joshua Elementary School has been closed and all students and faculty have been diverted to El Dorado Elementary School.

The SEB Special Weapons Team has assumed command of the tactical response and the Crisis Negotiation Team is on scene to help bring the situation to a peaceful resolution.

Several Public Information Officers are responding to the area and will be available for the media. For updated information follow on our Twitter account @LASDHQ, or call Sheriff’s Information Bureau at (213) 229-1850
