SUMMARY:

On Tuesday, January 16th, the Sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) served a search warrant at a commercial building in Apple Valley for the illegal cultivation of marijuana.

Code Enforcement Officers from the Town of Apple Valley were at the location for an inspection of the property. While there, they discovered an indoor marijuana cultivation inside one of the units in the commercial complex. Officers prepared an inspection warrant and served it shortly afterwards. They confirmed the illegal marijuana cultivation and requested the assistance of MET.

MET began their investigation and served a search warrant. During the investigation, over 90 marijuana plants were found growing inside one unit. In a second unit over 250 marijuana plants were found. All the plants were seized.

Faulty electrical wiring was found throughout both units. Unpermitted structure modifications to both units were documented by the code enforcement personnel. Code Enforcement personnel will assist in the notifications to the property owners to make them aware of the violations occurring on their property. The owners may face citations at a later time.
