NEWS RELEASE: Homicide Investigation
On January 17, 2018, at approximately 1:36 A.M. a caller reported finding a body in the Rio Hondo Riverbed near Roosevelt Ave. The caller reported the body had signs of trauma to the head area. Montebello Police Officers met with the caller who directed officers to the location of the body. Officers discovered an unidentified male subject in his 30’s down along the bike path near Roosevelt Ave. The victim had signs of head trauma and evidence found at the scene is consistent with a shooting taking place. Montebello Fire Department pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Montebello Police Department will be working with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office on the identification of the deceased.
