Novato Police Investigating Fatal Traffic Collision
Today, at approximately 1:20PM, the Novato Police Department received several 9-1-1 calls reporting that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle in the 1900 block of Novato Boulevard. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that an adult female had been struck by a vehicle traveling east bound on Novato Boulevard between Simmons Ln. and McClay Rd. Officers and bystanders immediately began lifesaving measures. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The victim, a 56 year old female Novato resident, sustained traumatic injuries to her head and extremities. The victim was subsequently transported by the Novato Fire Protection District to Marin General Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Witnesses are asked to contact the Novato Police Department’s Traffic Section at 415-897-4361.
