POLICE JUNIOR CADETS EXEMPLIFY HOLIDAY SPIRIT

Modesto, CA – The Modesto Police Department’s Junior Cadets recently brought the holiday spirit to the elderly in our community during to area convalescent and retirement homes.

On December 22nd, the Junior Cadets went on a community service mission to bring holiday cheer to the elderly in our city at four retirement homes. The Junior Cadets worked for several weeks making over 100 Christmas cards to deliver to the homes and sang carols to the residents of VALLEY COMFORT, WALNUT GROVE, VINTAGE FAIRE CONVALESCENT HOME and NEIGHBORHOOD MANOR.

Troop 6 of the Modesto Police Department’s Police Activities League (PAL) Junior Cadets Program, fully sponsored by the Stanislaus County Housing Authority and Paradise South Weed & Seed started in September and currently has 25 kids enrolled.

The kids meet every Tuesday and Thursday after school from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at the Modesto Police Department PAL center (located at the Westview Gardens Community Center 1701 Robertson Road) to learn about safety and how to avoid gang and drug lifestyles. The program is presented in a police academy style format that includes physical exercise, police-related lectures and activities.
