TIP LEADS TO ARREST OF ROBBERY SUSPECT

Modesto, CA – Detectives have made an arrest in the June and October robberies of two Modesto banks. The man has been linked to two other robberies in the region. Police credit an alert tipster for the man’s arrest.

Modesto Police received a Crime Stoppers tip in mid-November after a concerned citizen recognized the photo of man wanted in connection with two local bank robberies. The tipster saw the man at the Crime Stoppers website and provided pertinent information for detectives to obtain a photograph of he man, identified as 28-year-old Ceres resident Adam Ayala.

The tip provided detectives with the information they needed to solve two Modesto area bank robberies. Detectives believe Ayala is responsible for two separate Guaranty Bank heists. Both of the bank branches are located inside of Cost-Less grocery stores. The first robbery occurred on June 3rd at the Guaranty branch at 901 N. Carpenter Road and the second robbery occurred on October 6th at the bank branch located at 3801 Yosemite Boulevard.

At about 8:00 am this morning Ayala was arrested without incident at a home in the 3600 block of Timberly Lane in Ceres. Detectives have also been working closely with detectives in Merced and Lodi in the days and weeks leading to Ayala’s arrest. Ayala is also believed to be responsible for robberies in each of those two cities.
