...WINTER STORM TO AFFECT MUCH OF SOUTHERN INDIANA AND CENTRAL KENTUCKY TODAY AND TONIGHT... .Rain will change to a mix of freezing rain and sleet from west to east today and then change over to an accumulating snow by this afternoon and into the evening hours. The combination of ice and snow accumulations will result in hazardous travel conditions later today and continuing into tonight. ...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST /3 AM CST/ SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Moderate to heavy mixed precipitation expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions. Total snow and sleet accumulations of 3 to 5 inches and ice accumulations of around a tenth of an inch are expected in the warning area. Gusty winds will result in the blowing and drifting of snow.

* WHERE...All of southern Indiana and much of north central Kentucky.

* WHEN...4 AM today to 4 AM Saturday.
