WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS
EVENING TO MIDNIGHT CST TONIGHT…
* WHAT…Brief period of freezing rain and sleet expected. The
ice will result in very slippery conditions on sidewalks,
roads and bridges. Total ice accumulations of a light glaze
are expected.
* WHERE…Portions of central and northeast Illinois.
* WHEN…From 6 PM this evening to midnight CST tonight.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Temperatures will fall sharply, dropping
below freezing late this afternoon into the evening. This will
result in untreated wet roadways and sidewalks freezing and
becoming slippery. Wind chill values will drop to the single digits by mid to late evening.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads.
