Advisory

Search Warrant Served at Property of Couple Arrested in Nebraska

Public Information Release
Lieutenant Corey Paulich
January 10th, 2018

On December 23rd, 2017, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office learned that Patrick Gordon Jiron (80) and Barbara Jean Jiron (70) of Clearlake Oaks were arrested while driving through York County Nebraska when they were stopped by local law enforcement for traffic violations. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded approximately 60 pounds of processed marijuana. Both Patrick and Barbara were arrested for the violations and the marijuana that was seized. During an interview, Patrick stated the marijuana was being delivered to Massachusetts and Vermont to family as Christmas presents.

On January 9th, 2018 the Sheriff’s Office also learned that Patrick and Barbara had again been arrested in Lincoln Nebraska and were in possession of approximately $18,000.00 in US Currency, raw marijuana and evidence indicating marijuana sales.

On January 9th, 2018 the Lake County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit used this information to author a search warrant for the Jiron’s residence and property located in the 16000 of Pueblo Trail in Clearlake Oaks. Detectives served the warrant locating no suspects on scene. A 75 plant harvested grow site was located and determined to actually be encroaching on BLM Federal Public Land. Detectives located a total of 152 pounds of loose processed marijuana and approximately 8 pounds of packaged processed marijuana.

Both Patrick and Barbara had posted bail early on January 9th in Nebraska and are believed to be traveling back to California. In addition to the offenses violated in Nebraska, Patrick and Barbara are facing violations of California Health and Safety Code 11360(D)- Transportation of Marijuana Out of State for Purpose of Sale, 11358(d)(3)(G)- Cultivation of Marijuana Causing Damage to Public Lands, and 11359(B)- Cultivation of Marijuana for Sale. The investigation has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for filing.
