Narrative:
On January 5, 2018, at about 12:30 a.m., deputies assigned to the Thousand Oaks Police Department responded to a call for service where an adult female reported she was sexually assaulted by a male she met on social media. An ensuing investigation led to the arrest of 21 year old Andy Menjivar.

The incident began when the female victim made arrangements to meet with Menjivar in thearea of Lynn Rd and Janss Rd. in the City of Thousand Oaks. The victim drove to the locationwhere she met Menjivar. Menjivar identified himself as a police officer then drove the victim to a parking lot where he sexually assaulted her. The victim was driven back to her car andreleased.

Numerous detectives responded for the investigation and were able to locate the suspect as he left an apartment complex in the 8000 block of Variel Ave, Los Angeles. Investigators arrested
Menjivar and booked him into the Ventura County Jail.

On January 9th, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office filled one count of kidnap with the intent to commit sexual assault and one count of sexual assault under color of authority by impersonating a police officer. Menjivar remains in custody and his bail has been set at $500,000.00. If convicted on allcharges, Menjivar could potential face a sentence of fifteen years to life in prison.
