Train versus pedestrian collision near the Emeryville Amtrak Station (UPDATE: Train service through...Emeryville corridor...resumed...)

At about 6:40 this morning an in-bound Amtrak commuter train struck an adult male who was walking next to the train tracks in the 5800 block of Horton St. The pedestrian was knocked to the ground and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The Amtrak commuter train has been left at the scene and will not return into service until investigators from the railway have completed their preliminary investigation. Normal rail service will resume when their investigation has completed.

Please remember to remain vigilant when walking or driving near train tracks and always be safe.
