The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
January 8th
1142 Hours: Officer Musantry recovered a 1996 Honda Accord that was reported stolen out of Hayward on Wells Avenue. The registered owner was notified of the recovery.
1354 Hours: Officer Musantry investigated an auto burglary on the 6200 block of Jarvis Avenue. The loss is luggage containing clothing.
1412 Hours: Officer Wang investigated an auto burglary that occurred at CitiBank, 35106 Newark Boulevard. The loss is a laptop bag containing an Apple MacBook Pro.
1611 Hours: Officers responded to a non-injury single vehicle crash on the 36500 block of Bottle Brush Court. The driver, a 44-year-old Newark male was issued a citation for driving without a license.
1841 Hours: Officer Rivas investigated a vehicle vandalism case on the 5500 block of Bishop Way.
1853 Hours: Officer Geser investigated an auto burglary on the 35900 block of Ruschin Drive. The loss is miscellaneous tools.

The log displays basic information such as personal data (allowable by statute/law) and the mug shot of the arrestee. Yes, you can see booking photographs and get to know those in our community who are committing crimes.
