January 7^th, 2018- A vandal slashed tires on about 19 vehicles early Sunday morning, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
 
San Mateo Police Officers responded to the 500 block of Edinburgh St. on Sunday at about 9:00 a.m. on a report of multiple vehicles vandalized. Officers arrived on scene and located a total of 19 vehicles with their tires slashed. Some vehicles were parked on the street and others in driveways.  Many of the vehicles had multiple tires destroyed. Officers determined that the suspect or suspects used a knife or sharp tool to puncture the tires at about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday. The total damage to all vehicles involved are estimated to be in the thousands of dollars.
 
Preliminary investigation, reveals that the suspect is described as an unknown race male, tall with a slim build, wearing light colored pants, a hooded jackets, black gloves, and black shoes.
