LOCATION:  4500 block Heathdale Avenue, Covina 91722

VICTIM:  Female Juvenile

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into a shooting which resulted in the injury of a female juvenile that occurred on the 4500 block of Heathdale Avenue in the unincorporated area of Covina on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at approximately 9:44 P.M.

Detectives have learned that deputies from the San Dimas station responded to the location regarding a gunshot victim call.  Upon their arrival, deputies discovered the victim with a gunshot wound to the upper torso.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where she is listed in grave condition.

The motive for the shooting is unknown and there is no suspect information.  The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information.
