The LA County Sheriff’s Department and County Fire Department will present this training to the public FREE OF CHARGE!!!

The training course will be presented as a series of three classes on February 10, February 17 and February 24, 2018, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.  YOU MUST ATTEND ALL 3 SESSIONS to get your certificate of completion.

The classes will be held at the Acton Community Center: 3748 W Nickels Ave,  Acton, CA 93510.   
 
Following a major disaster, police, fire and medical professionals may not be able to fully meet the demand. People will have to rely on each other to meet the immediate lifesaving and life sustaining needs, particularly in isolated neighborhoods that may be cut off from the main roads for a period of time.

The County of Los Angeles Fire Department Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) program was developed through FEMA to provide basic training in safety and lifesaving skills for the general public.   

The course curriculum covers the following modules:
*Emergency Preparedness
*CERT Organization
*Fire Safety
*Disaster Psychology
*Emergency Medical Operations-One victim
*Terrorism
*Emergency Medical Operations-Triage
*Course Review
*Light Search and Rescue Operations
*Disaster Simulation Exercise
