Deputy arrests wanted man at River Rock Casino for possession of meth.

An alert Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a 30-year-old Santa Rosa man for possession of methamphetamine and providing false information during a contact at the River Rock Casino this morning.

Just before 2:00 AM, a deputy on routine patrol spotted a suspicious white Dodge pickup truck pull up to the valet parking attendants at the casino after it had driven around the parking garage. The deputy recognized the passenger as a Sonoma County probationer so he made contact.

The driver couldn’t provide any identification and wasn’t able to spell his last name correctly. The deputy became suspicious that he was providing a false name to avoid legal problems. The deputy got the driver out of the truck and removed over 2 grams of methamphetamine from his pockets. The driver eventually admitted that he gave the deputy the wrong name. When he gave the deputy his correct name of Brett Salva, the deputy was able to confirm that he had a felony, no bail warrant for violating probation on a burglary charge.

Salva was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on misdemeanor charges of methamphetamine possession and proving false information to a peace officer along with his felony arrest warrant. He is being held without bail.
