Four-vehicle fatal traffic collision

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Palmdale Road / Emerald Road
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at approximately 5:31 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station and rescue personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a four-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Palmdale Road and Emerald Road in the city of Victorville.
Upon arrival, Deputies determined that a burgundy Lexus Passenger vehicle was driving east on Palmdale Road and rear ended a white Chevrolet Equinox. The Lexus entered the westbound lanes of Palmdale Road and was broadsided by a gray Honda Accord traveling west on Palmdale Road. The Honda was struck by a black Toyota Celica traveling west on Palmdale Road.
The driver of the Lexus was pronounced deceased on scene. The passenger of the Lexus and occupants of the Honda were transported to local area hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
M.A.I.T. Investigators with the Victorville City Station are continuing the investigation into the cause of the collision. Palmdale Road between Cantina Drive and Cobalt Road was closed in both directions for several hours while investigators conducted an investigation into the collision. Palmdale Road was reopened at approximately 2:00AM.
