Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of one adult male, and the wounding of an adult female, that occurred on the 400 block of West Spruce Street in the city of Compton on Saturday, December 30, 2017.
Detectives have learned that at approximately 10:09 P.M., Compton Station deputies responded to the location regarding a “gunshot victim” call.
Upon their arrival, they located two victims who each had sustained at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso.
One victim, the adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other victim, the adult female, was transported to a local hospital where she is listed in stable condition.
At this time the identity of the suspect is unknown. The suspect vehicle, a sedan, was last seen traveling eastbound on Spruce Street and out of view.
There is no additional information or known motive for the crime.
